Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo's Woodlot operation utilizes a wood recycling machine to process thousands of pounds of trees, brush, and fallen or trimmed tree limbs each year. This product is then resold, producing revenue that is used to invest back into the health of the city's tree canopy. The current wood recycling machine is long past its useful life, breaks down frequently, and repairs are beginning to exceed the machine's value. Parks, Recreation and Forestry would like to proceed with a purchase of a new wood recycling machine through Bandit Industries, Inc., who currently holds the state term contract. Bandit will allow us to trade in our current machine for a purchase credit of $160,000 which is equivalent to its fair market value. Replacing the recycler will facilitate the continued woodlot grinding operations.
