SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This legislation provides funding for a variety of programs both for the administration of the CDBG-CV program and programs operated internally by various City Departments and operations, Community Development Corporations, and Social Service agencies to be used to prevent, prepare for and respond to the coronavirus COVID-19. This special allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act); and this legislation authorizes the acceptance, deposit, appropriation and expenditure in the amount of $4,453,360 as well as the submission of the 2015-2020 Consolidated Plan Substantial Amendment and the 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan Substantial Amendment to be submitted to HUD on June 5th, 2020.

The financial impact of this Ordinance is the receipt of $4,453,360 from HUD to the City of Toledo for the administration of the CDBG-CV Program as well as the allocation of funding to Community Development Corporations and various Social Service agencies in the Toledo community to prevent, prepare for and respond to COVID-19 activities.
