SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Water Reclamation Plant's Secondary Treatment Facility is the heart of the treatment process. This facility was originally built in the mid 1950's and expanded in the 1970's. The Improvement I-44C Phase 1 - Inlet Gate Replacement Project is a breakout project from the Secondary Renovations Project, Improvement No. 44. This breakout project focuses on the replacement of structural, mechanical and electrical components of the Secondary Treatment Facility. This project will address the replacement of the inlet gates, stop gates hardware, control valves and related electrical and controls systems, in addition to concrete repairs. This project is critical to the operation of the Secondary Treatment Facility, because its components are essential for the isolation and maintenance of the secondary settling tanks in order to maintain compliance with the NPDES discharge permit. This ordinance will provide funding to perform the construction services of the Improvement I-44C Phase 1 - Inlet Gate Replacement Project.
