SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) has recommended a sub- award to the City of Toledo for $40,359.38 from grant 2017-JG-A01-B2600 (Bureau of Justice Assistance- Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program) for the Forensic and Cybercrimes Section. The grant funds will be used to purchase a ThermoFisher Scientific Nicolet iS50 Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) to replace the current one that is over 20 years old and the company that provides service to the spectrometer stated that parts and services will cease because of the age of the machine.

This ordinance will authorize acceptance, deposit, appropriation, and expenditure of $40,359.38 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, and authorize the expenditure of $20,275.62 from the General Fund. The total expenditure for the purchase of the ThermoFisher Scientific Nicolet iS50 Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) is $60,635. There is no cash match and the in-kind match requirement will be $13,453.13. The in-kind match will be personnel salary from the commander of the Forensic & Cybercrimes Section.
