SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This ordinance authorizes the expenditure of funds for annual maintenance costs for the Civica CMI tax authority system. The division of taxation implemented CMI in February 2016 (authorized by ordinance 258-15). The annual maintenance cost covers customer support services and annual software updates. Funds are included annually in the operating budget to cover this expenditure.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to expend an amount not to exceed $118,500 annually, subject to approved appropriations, from the General Fund, Account Code 1001-14400-1133001STDSTD, for annual maintenance costs for the Civica CMI tax authority system.
SECTION 2. That the Finance Director is authorized to issue his warrant or warrants against the above mentioned Account Code in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property, and for the further reason that this Ordinance must immediately be effective in order to maintain without interruption the city's tax authority system.
