SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Resolution is required to designate an agent for someone to act on the City’s behalf for the purposes of the grant application, agreement, and its requirements.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of Toledo a public entity established under the laws of the State of Ohio applications for Federal financial assistance under the Disaster Relief Act (Public Law 288, 23rd Congress) or otherwise available from the President’s Disaster Relief Fund and to file it in the appropriate State office.
SECTION 2. That the City of Toledo hereby authorizes its agent to provide to the State and to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) information and documentation for all matters pertaining to such Federal disaster assistance the assurances and agreements as listed in the Grant Agreement.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Resolution must be immediately effective in order to administer FEMA grants.
