SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to Ordinance 151-18, a five (5)-year agreement was enacted with CWR for the purpose of site management at both Elmdale and Riverside composting facilities, the receipt and handling of leaf material and the creation of topsoil from that leaf material. The current agreement is dated to expire in June 2024, though the legislative authority is dated to expire in June 2023. This ordinance is to parallel the language in the current agreement with the appropriate legislative authority to expend the funds to satisfy the city's contractual obligation through the terms of said agreement.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a one (1)-year extension of the Agreement with CWR for the receipt and handling of leaf material, creation of topsoil and site management of both Elmdale and Riverside composting facilities upon such terms and conditions are met with the approval of the Mayor, Director of Public Service, and the Director of Law.

SECTION 2. That pursuant to the terms of the agreement established by Ord. 151-18, the sum of $147,000 is authorized for expenditure from Account Code 3050-27100-2421001STDSTD, as a continuing obligation of the City in payment for management of the composting sites to CWR for the life of this agreement.
