SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This Ordinance establishes the OneOhio Opioid Settlement Fund to account for the City of Toledo’s local government share of the OneOhio Opioid Settlement Funds (OneOhio Funds). OneOhio Funds must be utilized in a manner consistent with the approved purposes outlined in the OneOhio memorandum of understanding.

 

Subsequent legislation will be presented to authorize appropriation and expenditure of any OneOhio Funds.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That the OneOhio Opioid Settlement Fund (fund number 2022) is established to account for the City of Toledo’s OneOhio Opioid Settlement Funds.

 

                     SECTION 2. That the OneOhio funds will be used only for purposes as required by the OneOhio memorandum of understanding.

 

SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to establish the OneOhio Opioid Settlement Fund.
