Title

Authorizing the expenditure of and amount not to exceed $1,000,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund for community and senior center improvements; authorizing the Mayor to accept bids and award contracts for said improvements; and declaring an emergency.

 

Body

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

In combination with $3,000,000 of Local Fiscal Recovery Funding, Facility Operations will utilize this Capital Improvement Program funding for the renovations and improvements of Community and Senior Centers throughout the city. Improvements include, but are not limited to roofing, HVAC, electrical upgrades, interior improvements and parking lot improvements.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That an amount not to exceed $1,000,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-26100-8CP2320CCBIMP for improvement at City of Toledo owned community and senior centers.

 

                                                                                                         SECTION 2.  That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts, for the purposes specified in Section 1, subject to terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Service and the Director of Law.

 

SECTION 3.                      That the Finance Director is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the above Account Code in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000 in payment of all above-authorized obligations upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 4.                      That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow timely improvements at community and senior centers.
