Title
Authorizing the Mayor to accept a donation of 8 park benches valued at $37,893 from Canvus Inc. to support Schneider Park upgrades; and declaring an emergency.

Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo, Division of Parks and Recreation has been offered a donation of eight park benches for use at Schneider Park. These benches are constructed from decommissioned fiberglass windmill blades and other recycled materials such as plastic shrink wrap and sawdust from wood milling operations. The department has reached an agreement with the Young Artists at Work (YAW) program administered through the Arts Commission to create custom artwork for each park bench. All eight benches will be installed at Schneider Park to compliment the other examples of sustainable development that the department has incorporated into that project design such as a bio-swale that will filter millions of gallons of stormwater runoff and incorporation of recycled tires in the entrance drive and parking lot asphalt.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept a donation of 8 park benches valued at $37,893from Canvus Inc.
