SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Division of Traffic Management is in need of one (1) service truck for the operation of maintaining the City's underground infrastructure for traffic signals and fiber optic communications. This Ordinance authorizes the expenditure of funds needed to purchase one service truck by means of the Street Construction Maintenance and Repair Fund. The total amount to be expended for the vehicle is $85,000. The vehicle will enable traffic signal personnel to perform their duties in building, repairing, and maintaining the traffic signals for the citizens of the City of Toledo to travel.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $85,000 is authorized from the Street Construction Maintenance and Repair Fund Account Code 2014-22500-2413003STDSTD for the purchase of one service truck.

SECTION 2. That the mayor is authorized to enter into a contract with Brondes Ford for the purchase of one service truck. The contract shall contain such terms and conditions as the mayor may deem requisite and proper, and shall be subject to approval by the Director of Law and the Director of Transportation.

SECTION 3. That this Council finds it in the best interest of the City to waive the competitive procurement requirements of Toledo Municipal Code Chapter 187 for this purchase for the reason that there is a proven lack of supply of available trucks and that a truck has been located and ...
