Revised
Title
Authorizing the Mayor to accept EMS equipment and supplies from Lucas County EMS (LCEMS) for the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department for Emergency Medical Response purposes; declaring an emergency
Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
For over a decade, LCEMS has loaned TFRD Lifepak 15 cardiac monitors (LP15’s) for Advanced Life Support emergency care and recently offered to transfer ownership of said units and related equipment unconditionally, totaling (6) LP15s, with a collectively estimated value of $149,410.
Accordingly, the donated equipment will supplement Fire’s current LP15 compliment and be maintained according to Fire’s current care schedule and will be included in future Stryker care plan contracts.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept EMS equipment and supplies from Lucas County EMS for the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department for Emergency Medical Response purposes.
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation and safety of the citizens of Toledo and acceptance of this donation greatly supplements the current LP15 compliment as needed to adequately support TFRD emergency care responses.
