SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Division of Traffic Management has been working closely with ODOT to secure grant funding for multiple projects that is 100% federal funding with no match. All amounts are grant dollars and are assigned to specific projects as follows:
A maximum of $395,438 has been allocated by ODOT through Safety Funding for a traffic signal project and for materials for a school zones and crosswalks improvement project. Construction for these projects is scheduled for 2023.
Passage of this ordinance is required to enable the City of Toledo to accept outside funding for these projects and have it in place to help pay for these expenditures.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the mayor is authorized to enter into and execute cooperative agreements with and accept financial assistance from the State of Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for various projects upon such terms and conditions shall be approved by the Director of Transportation and the Director of Law.
SECTION 2. That the mayor is authorized to accept and deposit grant proceeds from ODOT into the Capital Improvement Fund in an amount not to exceed $395,438 from account code 540G-22500-8GA7159STDSTD for two projects.
