SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo, Division of Parks and Recreation has been awarded funds granted by Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) through their Recycling and Litter Prevention Program to support the construction of a new entrance drive and parking lots at Schneider Park. The pavement used in this project will incorporate approximately 500 recycled rubber tires into the asphalt mix. The grant requires a minimum $300,000 match from the City of Toledo, which has been allocated from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds through ordinance 71-22. Work will be completed no later than June 30th, 2024.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept and deposit a grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) in the amount of $300,000 into the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 540G-40100- 8G00189STDSTD for the construction of entrance drive and parking lot improvements at Schneider Park.

SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $300,000 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Capital Improvement Fund to Account Code 540G-40100- 8G00189STDSTD and the expenditure of same is authorized for the construction of entrance drive and parking lot improvements at Schneider Park.
