Celebrating the retirement of Captain Jeffrey Romstadt from Toledo Fire and Rescue Department.
Summary
WHEREAS, together we celebrate Captain Jeffrey Romstadt on his retirement from the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department on July 6, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Jeff was first appointed to the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department on September 22, 1989, he served at stations 5B, 1A, 17B, 19C, and 12C during his tenure; and
WHEREAS, Jeff was promoted to Lieutenant on September 4, 1993, and Captain on June 10, 2009; he served as the EMS Captain from February 1, 2010 through August 1, 2020, and was the President of Local 92 from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Jeff served his department faithfully through the immeasurable tragedy of communal loss, as well as an incredibly challenging economic downturn; he also experienced the proud moment of seeing his son join the department; and
WHEREAS, Jeff had a love and dedication for his work only outdone by his commitment to his family: his wife of 38 years Linda, and their 3 children: Tara, Dana & Kyle; and would show his commitment by scheduling vacation days to be home for their every birthday; and
WHEREAS, Jeff will miss the time with his TFD family; he and his wife will have their hands full with five grandchildren, and a sixth on the way; and even occasionally making time for Ohio State Football, Detroit Tigers Baseball, traveling and bicycle rides; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That Toledo City Council celebrates Captain Jeff Romstadt for his dedication to the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department and the citizens of Toledo.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
