SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Former City of Toledo employee Robin Wilson filed a charge of employment discrimination with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Following negotiations, an agreement has been reached in the amount of $45,000 as to all claims, including a waiver of all future employment recall rights without any admission of liability for any violation of state or federal law.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the expenditure of $45,000 is authorized from the Risk Management Fund Account Code 7095-12000-157001STDSTD in settlement of the claims alleged by Robin Wilson against the City of Toledo.
SECTION 2. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants to Robin Wilson and her legal counsel in the sum of $45,000 from the above Account Code upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this ordinance must be immediately effective in order to implement the settlement in accordance with the agreement.
