SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This ordinance authorizes expending up to $100,000 for the renovation of the open-air shelter at Trilby Park. The shelter is in disrepair and must be restored for proper and safe use. Funds for this project are included in the approved Capital Improvement Plan budget.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. The expenditure of an amount not to exceed $100,000 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-40100-8CP2215PRKIMP for the renovation of the open-air shelter at Trilby Park.

 

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for the purposes specified in Section 1 upon terms and conditions as acceptable to the Director of Law and the Director of Parks and Youth Services.

 

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of the above authorized obligations in amounts not to exceed $100,000 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely renovate the Trilby Park open-air shelter for proper and safe use.

 

                     Vote on emergency clause:  yeas 12, nays 0.
