Title

Authorizing the disappropriation of $227,527.90 from the Division of Neighborhoods Administration’s General Fund budget; authorizing the appropriation of same from the General Fund to the Division of Housing budget; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this ordinance is to make funding available to disburse for Lead Safe marketing, training development, Lead classes and small business training that will support the Lead Safe Ordinance (397.20). Individuals will be trained in one of the following areas: Local Lead Inspectors, Licensed Clearance Technicians, Lead Risk Assessors. This legislation authorizes the reappropriation of $227,527.90 within the General Fund operating budget from the Division of Neighborhoods Administration to the Division of Housing for these purposes.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

            SECTION 1.                     That the disappropriation of $227,527.90 is authorized from the General Fund Account Code 1001-16100-537410-5632005STDSTD and the appropriation of same is authorized from the General Fund to Account Code 1001-16200-5632005STDSTD for lead related activities.

                     

            SECTION 2.                     That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective to timely reappropriate these funds for lead-related activities.

 

                     Vote on emergency clause:  yeas 11, nays 0.
