Authorizing the Mayor to accept a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) in the amount of $77,383 to support Ottawa Park Amphitheater sewer restoration and upgrade; authorizing the deposit, appropriation and expenditure of $77,383 in the Capital Improvement Fund for the sewer restoration project; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The City of Toledo, Division of Parks and Recreation has been awarded funds granted by Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to support the final phase of Ottawa Park Amphitheater sewer restoration and upgrade. The grant requires a 25% match from the City of Toledo, which will be allocated from District 1 Improvement Funds through separate legislation. Work will be completed no later than December 31, 2023.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Mayor is authorized to accept and deposit a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) in the amount of $77,383 to support Ottawa Park Amphitheater sewer restoration and upgrade into the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 540G-40100-8G00023STDSTD.

 

SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $77,383 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Capital Improvement Fund to Account Code 540G-40100-8G00023STDSTD and the expenditure of same is authorized for the Ottawa Park Amphitheater sewer restoration and upgrade.

 

SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for the purposes specified above, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Enrichment and Director of Law.

 

SECTION 4.  That the Finance Department is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the Account Code above in an amount not to exceed $77,383 in payment of the above-authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 5.  That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective to timely receipt and deposit the grant funds.

 

Vote on emergency clause:  yeas 12, nays 0.
