SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Community CPR 419 event was the collaboration of numerous external stakeholders, like Safety NEST, The African American Male Wellness Agency, Bon Secours Mercy Health, Taylor Automotive, Scott H.S, and the House of Day Funeral Home, to provide CPR training to communities predisposed to ailments causing cardiac arrest. Due to said educational efforts, 65 individuals ranging from Scott H.S. students, teachers, and local citizenry were AHA certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, a skill critical to improving cardiac event victim survivability.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept a donation from The African American Male Wellness Agency in an amount not to exceed $1,105.00 as reimbursement for the cost of 65 Heartsaver CPR AED eCards.
SECTION 2. That said funds shall be deposited in to Account Code: 1001-53000-3341002SUPSRV.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance recognizes the community stakeholders who share in Toledo Fire's interest and efforts to improve the medical literacy of all serviced communities.
