Authorizing the appropriation and expenditure of an amount not to exceed $820,000 in the Capital Improvement Fund for the purchase of four (4) dump trucks; authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for said purchase; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Service will be working with the Lucas County Landbank to demolish blighted and abandoned residential and commercial properties throughout the City of Toledo. In order for city crews to complete the work, replacement equipment is needed. This ordinance requests authorization to appropriate and expend $820,000 for the purchase of four dump trucks.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the appropriation of an amount not to exceed $820,000 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Improvement Fund to Account Code 5040-25000-8CP2213VEHCTY and expenditure of same is authorized for the purchase of four dump trucks.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract with FYDA Freightliner for the purchase of four dump trucks using the State Term Schedule purchasing contract, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Directors of Law and Public Service.

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above Account Code in payment of the above-authorized obligations upon presentation of properly approved voucher or vouchers in a total amount not to exceed $820,000.

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
