Title

Declaring it necessary to install street lights along Central Avenue from Talmadge to E. Lincolnshire Road; and declaring an emergency.

Body

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

It was determined additional lights along Central Avenue, from Talmadge Road to East Lincolnshire Road, were necessary to improve the lighting conditions for pedestrian and street traffic. There would be an addition of 14 light emitting diode (LED) lights installed at a total installation cost of $21,265. The operation and maintenance costs of the lighting is $1707.44 of which the city’s share is $281.26.

This Resolution declares the necessity for the street lighting and begins the process for authorizing the assessment for future maintenance costs.  Subsequent legislation will be presented to authorize the expenditure of TIF funds for the installation of the new lights.
