Designating Warren St. as “Edna R. Brown Way”.
Summary
WHEREAS, Edna R. Brown was a pioneer and trailblazer for women in our local politics; and
WHEREAS, Edna R. Brown lived the majority of her adult life as a public servant to the benefit of the people of Toledo and Northwest Ohio whereby she was a City of Toledo employee, a member of the Toledo City Council, an Ohio State Representative and finally an Ohio State Senator; and
WHEREAS, shortly after her passing she was unanimously memorialized by the Council of the City of Toledo with Resolution 29-22; and
WHEREAS, it is now befitting to further commemorate and honor the accomplishments of Edna R. Brown with an honorary street designation of Warren St. where she resided for decades; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the life and legacy of Edna R. Brown be commemorated with an honorary street designation of Warren St. as “Edna R. Brown Way”.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
