Title

Authorizing the Mayor to enter into an asset inventory managed services agreement; authorizing the expenditure of $40,000 from the Information and Communications Technology fund; and declaring an emergency.

Body

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

ICT is requesting a total of $40,000 from the Information and Communications Technology Fund for the Asset Inventory Managed Services program. This was formally bid with MCPc Inc. being the only bidder. ICT has chosen to use an outside service because they provide the collection tools and framework for IT Asset Management that follows ITIL standards. In the past PCs were purchased at the department level making it difficult to track inventory and cost effectively maintain the devices.  The MCPc deliverables will be in a form that allows the department to maintain ITIL standard asset management on an ongoing basis.

The fiscal impact of this ordinance is as follows:

-                     The amount of funds requested: $40,000

-                     The expenditure budget line item 7084-175000- 1144004ICTADM

-                     New revenue generated (operational revenue, grants, if any): none

-                     Revenue budget line item (if any): none

-                     Are funds budgeted in the current fiscal year (yes/no)? yes

-                     Is this a capital project (yes/no)?  no

-                     If yes, is it new or existing (new/existing)? n/a

-                     What section of the City’s Strategic Plan does this support:

o                     Excellence in Basic Services (yes/no) Yes

o                     Quality Community Investment (Livable City, Development) (yes/no) no

o                     Workplace Culture & Customer Service (yes/no) yes

o                     Environment (yes/no) no
