SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The 2021 capital budget allows for the purchase of new equipment to replace older and no longer supported computer equipment. The purpose of this legislation is to allow ICT to donate or recycle retired equipment through an agreements with PCs for People or similar firms.

 

The fiscal impact of this ordinance is as follows:

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

          SECTION 1.                     That the mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with PCs for People or similar firms to accept the donation of retired computer equipment under such terms and conditions also deemed appropriate by the Director of ICT and the Director of Law.

 

           SECTION 2.                      That this Council finds it in the best interest of the city to waive the disposal of such equipment per TMC Chapter 187 for the reason that the donation will benefit citizens that may not be able to attain such computer equipment.

 

SECTION 3    That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. Emergency passage is requested as an adjustment to the revised council calendar.
