Summary
WHEREAS, the Toledo Urban Federal Credit Union (TUFCU), originally operating at 1339 Dorr Street, Toledo, Ohio, became the first, and remains the only African American community development credit union in the City of Toledo, since opening its doors in July 21, 1996, and has served the greater Toledo community for 25 years; and

WHEREAS, local community leaders founded the credit union including: Ken Alderson, Suzette Cowell (the first and only CEO the credit union has known) Rev. Robert Culp, Roosevelt Gant, Minister Rick Hunter, Alto King Jr., Edwin Mabrey and Bishop Duane Tisdale; and

WHEREAS, while the LaValley Foundation has contributed many projects that served the residents of the City of Toledo, the Toledo Urban Credit Union building donation represents the organization's first project that in particular will serve the inner city; and

WHEREAS, the 3,200 square-foot facility provides confidential space for banking and business purposes, includes an ATM and drive-up window, and provides an additional 25 parking spaces for members at the intersection of Detroit Avenue and Dorr Street; and

WHEREAS, TUFCU Board of Directors are: Fletcher Word, President; Edwin Mabrey, Vice President; Suzette Cowell, CEO and Treasurer; Pastor Jerry Boose, Secretary; Adele Jaison, Supervisory Chair; Lawrence Friedman; Sister Virginia Welsh; Raymond Wood, Pastor Timothy Pettaway; Supervisory Committee: Mark Sommer; and

WHEREAS, Toledo Urban Foundation, Inc. Board Members are: Richard G. LaValley, Jr., President; Deborah G. Beyer, Treasurer; Frances Smith, Secretary; Suzette R. Cowell; Laurie Cantrell; Michael R. Killian, Sr.; James F. Weber; NOW, THEREFORE,
