SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Toledo Police Department is in need of patrol vehicles. This Ordinance authorizes the expenditure of $4,020,000 from the Capital Improvement Plan for the purchase of new patrol vehicles and related equipment.

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $4,020,000 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-52000-8CP2139POLVEH, for vehicle replacement for the Toledo Police Department.

 

                                                                                                         SECTION 2.  That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts, for the purposes for the purposes specified in Section 1.

 

SECTION 3.                      That the Finance Director is authorized to draw his warrant or warrants against the proper appropriation from available funds in payment of all obligations created by this Ordinance upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 4.                      That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow the timely replacement of aging fleet.
