SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

Over the course of several years, Fleet Operations has held auctions for City of Toledo vehicles and equipment. All revenue received, were deposited to the original fund of purchase. There are funds available for use in the Municipal Garage Fund. This Ordinance authorizes the appropriation and expenditure of a portion of those funds from the unappropriated balance of the Municipal Garage Fund for the replacement of vehicles/equipment in the Police and Fire departments and Facility and Fleet Operations.

 

The fiscal impact of this Ordinance is as follows:

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1.  That the sum of $300,000 is authorized for appropriation from the unappropriated balance of the Municipal Garage Fund to Account Code 7086-25000-1146001STDSTD.

 

                     SECTION 2. The expenditure of $300,000 is authorized from the Municipal Garage Fund, Account Code 7086-25000-1146001STDSTD for the purchase of vehicles and equipment for Police, Fire, and Fleet and Facility Operations.

 

                     SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for labor, materials, and professional services necessary for the purposes specified in Section 1 upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Service and the Director of Law.

 

                     SECTION 4.                     That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the Account Code in Section 1 in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed $300,000 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 5.                     That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow the timely replacement of fleet and equipment.
