Title

Recognizing Chris Delaney for his public service as a City Councilman, Council District 6.

 

Summary

                     WHEREAS, Christopher J. Delaney was appointed to Toledo City Council to the Council District 6 seat on January 30, 2018, elected by the voters on May 8, 2018 and re-elected on November 5, 2019; and

                     

WHEREAS, Chris has served as Chair of the Public Safety & Criminal Justice Reform Committee and Chair of the Budget Oversight Committee; and

                     

WHEREAS, prior to serving on City Council, Chris was a member of the Toledo Police Department for over 30 years; and

                     

WHEREAS, Chris has resigned his Council District 6 seat to pursue an ambition in federal law enforcement; and

 

WHEREAS, Chris has a commitment to public service, and to help others when he could, always working to find an answer for his constituents, he was not afraid to tell them something was just not going to happen, he was a straight shooter and you did not have to wonder if Chris was telling you the absolute truth, he always did; and

 

WHEREAS, Chris’s greatest attribute could be his mediation skills, he always tried his absolute best to find a solution between the parties, whether between Council Members or his constituents; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

                     Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:

                     

SECTION 1.                     That Toledo City Council hereby recognizes Chris Delaney, thanks him for his public service as the Councilman for District 6, and wishes him well in all of his future endeavors.

                     

SECTION 2.                     That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
