Authorizing the expenditure of $1,516,260 from the golf course improvement fund for golf course operations during 2021; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The City of Toledo owns three municipal golf courses whose operations are funded through the Golf Course Improvement Fund established by Toledo Municipal Code Section 953.03.  All annual operating revenues are deposited in the Golf Course Improvement Fund.  Authorization is required to expend the approved budget for the three golf courses.

 

The fiscal impact of this Ordinance is as follows:

-                     The amount of funds expended: $1,516,260

-                     The deposit and expenditure budget line items: 2005-60300-5C13804STDSTD,  2005-60300-5C13805STDSTD, and 2005-60300-5C13806STDSTD

-                     New revenue generated (operational revenue, grants, if any): $1,510,000

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1. That the expenditure in the amount of $1,516,260 is authorized from the Golf Course Improvement Fund Account Codes to include 2005-60300-5C13804STDSTD,  2005-60300-5C13805STDSTD, and 2005-60300-5C13806STDSTD for golf course operations through 2021.

 

                     SECTION 2. That the Mayor and the Commissioner of Purchases and Supplies are authorized to accept bids and enter into contracts as necessary for golf course operations as specified in Section 1.

 

                     SECTION 3.  That the Finance Director is authorized to draw his warrant or warrants against the accounting code in Section 1 above, in payment of the above obligations authorized upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance be an emergency measure and shall take and be in force and effect after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property and further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to continue the golf course operations so as to avoid any interruption to the 2021 golf season.
