Recognizing Darryl "DB" Brown.

Summary
WHEREAS, as we embark into the new year poised with challenges, it remains prudent to acknowledge those of our community who continue to excel; and

WHEREAS, Darryl "DB" Brown, a native of Toledo, Ohio, is the Founder and CEO of Midwest Kids Fashion, an apparel corporation, that is trailblazing its way through the fashion industry whereby his designs have dressed "A-list" celebrities such as LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Gabrielle Union, Machine Gun Kelly, Common, Virgil Abloh and Kid Cudi, and he is a leading fashion designer for "Celebrity Guru" Kanye West; and

WHEREAS, Brown's business collaborations include those with the NBA, Champion Apparel and Bud Light Beer, and in his latest collaboration with shoe mogul "Adidas", Brown, in an effort to inspire future generations that experienced a similar upbringing, featured many of the places where he spent quality time growing up in his hometown of Toledo; and

WHEREAS, Darryl is a proud graduate of Rogers High School before he left Toledo to pursue his career. Now he has returned to invest in his hometown, opening a studio in downtown; and

WHEREAS, Darryl's designs have launched him and Toledo onto the global fashion scene. Because of the ad campaigns around his apparel, a mural created by local youth artists in the Young Artists at Work program in partnership with the City of Toledo and City Park League has been featured in videos and billboards around the globe giving credence, hope, and inspiration to our youth; NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That this Council does hereby recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit and success of Darryl "DB" Brown and he is commended for his efforts to inspire others with hope though creativity.
