Remembering Robert “Bob” H. Welly.
Summary
WHEREAS, Mr. Robert H. Welly will be greatly missed by so many in the Toledo community; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the inaugural graduating class of St. John’s Jesuit and as a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Toledo School of Law, Bob used his education for the good of others throughout his career; and
WHEREAS, Bob was a pillar in the arts community in Northwest Ohio; he was a life-long actor who served as an officer and on the boards of the Toledo Repertoire Theatre, the Black Swamp Players, and the Ohio Community Theatre Association; and
WHEREAS, Bob was very active in the South Toledo Community as the member of the Historic South Initiative, president of the Board of Trustees for Mosaic Ministries, and the president of the Broadway Corridor Coalition; and
WHEREAS, Bob will be missed most by his family: Nicholas and Emily, Burton and Kinley, and Timothy, as well as grandchildren: Piper, Reagan, Catherine, Elizabeth, Caroline, and Conrad and his ex-wife Lyn and Charles; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That Toledo City Council hereby recognizes the commitment that Mr. Robert “Bob” Welly showed to the Northwest Ohio community throughout his life. He will be greatly missed.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
