Summary
WHEREAS, in July 2020, then seven (7) year-old, second grader at St. Pius X Elementary School, Max Titkemeier, with the help of his mother, performed his first act of exemplary public leadership and service by setting up a lemonade stand to raise funds to benefit the family of fallen TPD Officer Anthony Dia who was killed in the line of duty on July 4, 2020; and

WHEREAS, then, throughout the weekend of January 22, 2021, now eight (8) year-old Max Titkemeier performed his second act of exemplary public leadership and service when he camped out all weekend, selling hot cocoa at a stand in front of his west Toledo home in an effort to raise money to benefit the Family of Fallen Toledo Police Department (TPD) Officer Brandon M. Stalker who on January 18, 2021 was killed in the line of duty; and

WHEREAS, through the self-less efforts of Max Titkemeier, and with the generous support of the Toledo community, the two events combined raised more than $14,000 for the benefit of the families of fallen Toledo Police Department (TPD) Officers Anthony Dia and Brandon M. Stalker; NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Council hereby recognizes Max Titkemeier for twice performing exemplary public acts of leadership and service to community in his generous and self-less gestures of human kindness to raise funds for the benefit of the families of fallen Toledo Police Department (TPD) Officers Anthony Dia and Brandon M. Stalker.
