SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The City of Toledo pools require the addition of chlorine to the water to maintain a safe swimming environment for users.  This is currently done manually.  The purchase of chemical feeder systems will automate this operation safely and efficiently.

 

The fiscal impact of this Ordinance is as follows:

Summary

NOW THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That the amount of $12,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-60300-8CP2023PLCHEM for the purchase and installation of five chemical feeder systems for City of Toledo pools.

 

SECTION 2.  That the Mayor is authorized to accept the bids and award contracts for the purposes specified in Section 1, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Directors of Public Service and Law.

 

                     SECTION 3.  That the Finance Director is authorized to draw his warrant or warrants against the account code in Section 1, in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed $12,000 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and so that this pool revitalization work may continue to the benefit of the community.
