SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Bids for brass fittings for the water repairs city wide have been received and Core & Main has been selected as the lowest and best bidder. Sufficient funds have been provided in the 2021 Operating Budget to pay the anticipated cost for the brass fittings contract.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the mayor is authorized to execute a one (1) year contract with (3) three one (1) year renewal options for the purchase of brass fittings for water repairs city wide upon such terms and conditions as the Public Utilities Director and the Law Director may deem requisite and proper.
SECTION 2. That contingent on annual appropriation an amount not to exceed $225,000 is authorized for expenditure annually over the term of the contract authorized in Section 1 from the Water Operating Fund, Account Code 6060-34000-4000514STDSTD, for purchase of brass fittings.
SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to issue his warrant or warrants against the account code listed in Section 2 in the amounts not to exceed those authorized above in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to permit the earliest possible repair of critical elements in the city’s water distribution system.
