SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Division of Streets, Bridges & Harbor has just accepted responsibility for the City of Toledo’s Urban Blight Program.  For the purpose of greater productivity of this program, the Division of Streets, Bridges & Harbor needs to procure a compact wheel loader.  A Volvo L35GS Compact Wheel Loader has been located at a competitive price for immediate delivery from Rudd Equipment Company solicited through Sourcewell. Auction proceeds from previous equipment sales to will be used to fund the purchase.

 

The fiscal impact of this Ordinance is as follows:

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                                                                                                          SECTION 1.  That the appropriation of $97,000 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Municipal Garage Fund to account code 7086-25000-1146001STDSTD and that the expenditure of same is authorized for the purchase of a Compact Wheel Loader.

                     

                     SECTION 2.  That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract for the purchase authorized in Section 1, upon such terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Service and the Director of Law.  

 

                     SECTION 3.  That the Finance Director is authorized to draw his warrant or warrants against the account code identified in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $97,000 in payment of the obligations authorized above upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that same is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to provide additional equipment to enhance the Urban Blight Program.
