SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Greater Toledo Community Foundation wishes to support the City of Toledo Department of Neighborhoods personnel costs of the Lead Safe Coordinator, tasked with coordination and brokering lead safe outcomes for residents of the City of Toledo. This Ordinance also authorizes the receipt and deposit, into the appropriate Account Code, of funds from the Greater Toledo Community Foundation and the expenditure of those funds. 

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Neighborhoods are authorized to enter into a one (1) year agreement with the Greater Toledo Community Foundation in the amount of $46,033, for personnel costs of the Lead Safe Coordinator tasked with coordination and brokering lead safe outcomes for residents of the City of Toledo.

 

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to accept, deposit, and appropriate into Account Code 2016 16200 5G07867STDSTD, the funds from the Greater Toledo Community Foundation associated with the Greater Toledo Community Foundation Safe and Healthy Homes Agreement; as well as is authorized to expend the funds from said Account Code.

 

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against Account Code 2016 16200 5G07867STDSTD for the purpose stated in Section One above referenced.

 

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that same must be immediately effective in order to address the lead contaminants in Toledo homes.
