Recognizing Wersell’s Bike & Ski Shop, Toledo’s oldest bike shop, on their 75th Anniversary.
Summary
WHEREAS, Wersell’s Bicycle & Ski Shop was first opened on December 8, 1945, by Harold Wersell on the corner of Central Avenue and Upton in Toledo, Ohio, where it would thrive for many years; and
WHEREAS, local, family-owned Wersell’s Bike and Ski Shop has been promoting bicycling in the Toledo and has become a Toledo institution; and
WHEREAS, Wersell’s Bike and Ski Shop was moved to its current location on Central Avenue between Douglas and Secor Roads in 1981, and in 1984, Harold’s youngest daughter, Jill Wersell, took over the business and has owned and operated it ever since; and
WHEREAS, Wersell’s Bike and Ski Shop has become the year-round place to go for biking and skiing enthusiasts and a valued community partner in the City of Toledo; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Council hereby recognizes Wersell’s Bike and Ski Shop on their 75th Anniversary.
