SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Lucia Bonilla and Mario Gonzalez were injured and suffered related property damage as a result of an auto accident involving a Toledo police officer that occurred here in Toledo, Lucas County on February 10, 2018. The accident occurred within the scope and employment of the officer's duties.
A proposed agreement has been reached in the amount of $14,750 to settle all claims stemming from the accident described above without constituting an admission of liability for any violation of state law.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That an expenditure in the amount of $14,750 is authorized from the Risk Management Fund, Account Code 7095-12000-3383003ALL35G in settlement of the claims against the City of Toledo and its individual police officer.
SECTION 2. That payment of these claims is contingent upon the execution of proper releases by the claimants.
SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants to Marco Gonzalez and the law offices of Gallon, Takacs & Boissoneault in the amount of $11,750, and to Lucia Bonilla and Gallon, Takacs & Boissoneault in the amount of $3,000 from the account code listed in Section 1 upon presentation of the proper vouchers.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance being an emergency measure shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for this emergency lies in the fact that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this ordinance must be immediately effective in order to implement the ...
