A resolution recognizing the month of June 2020 as "Immigrant Heritage Month" to celebrate and take pride in the immigrant heritage of Lucas County.

Summary
WHEREAS, Immigrant Heritage Month is celebrated nationally during the month of June to recognize the diverse heritage and contributions of generations of immigrants from every corner of our world who have called the United States home; and

WHEREAS, Welcome TLC transitioned the initiative's leadership to the Toledo Lucas County Public Library and created a full-time Welcome TLC Librarian position that engages with the steering committee's diverse network of partners, furthering its commitment to building a welcoming and inclusive community for immigrants, refugees, and people of diverse cultures; and

WHEREAS, at the end of June, the Toledo-Lucas county community is invited to an author attended, virtual book discussion, hosted by the Library to foster a sharing of immigrant heritage journeys from its members; and

WHEREAS, Welcome TLC is sharing local immigrant heritage stories for the fifth year. This year, due to the Coronavirus/Covid-19...
