SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council has recommended to the Office of Criminal Justice Services an award to the City of Toledo of $26,362.45 from grant funds under the 2019-WF-VA3-8841 Violence Against Women Act Program (VAWA) to continue the Toledo Police Domestic Violence Unit. The grant funds will be used to compile reports and statistics required by law and for training and equipment to conduct investigations of violence against women.
There is no cash match. There is an in-kind match of $8,787.48, which is a portion of the assigned officers' salary. The department has been awarded under this grant funding every year since FY 1999.
