SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Division of Transportation utilizes a sign platform truck for all installation of high signs and traffic signal equipment. The former platform trucks have been decommissioned due to age. The Division would like to proceed with purchasing a new platform truck for daily use.
The fiscal impact of this Ordinance is as follows:

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the sum of $150,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-22500-8CP2032PLTTRK and an amount not to exceed $35,000 is authorized from the Street Construction Maintenance and Repair Fund Account Code 2014-22500-2413001STDSTD for the purchase of a platform truck.
SECTION 2. That the mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for the purposes specified in Section 1 upon such terms and conditions as approved by the Director of Public Service and the Director of Law.
SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account codes in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed that authorized in Section 1 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow the Division of Transportation to install traffic signs and signals throughout the city.
