SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Willy’s Park Pool is one of the most popular and heavily utilized pools run by the City of Toledo. Over the past several years, cracks have developed in the pool lining, and the cement decking has cracked and become uneven, creating tripping hazards. This restoration project will reduce water usage by eliminating leaks, and provide a safer, more enjoyable experience for visitors by eliminating tripping hazards. The amount of $350,000 has been allocated in the 2020 CIP Parks Fund budget.

Summary
NOW THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the amount of $350,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-60300-8CP2024WILLYS for the repair and restoration of the pool at the City of Toledo’s Willy’s Park. .
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for the purposes specified in Section 1.
SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw his warrant or warrants against the Account Code in Section 1, in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed $350,000 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and to allow the contracts to be processed so the work can be completed with the least amount of disruption to the 2020 swimming season.
