SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Toledo Fire and Rescue Department requests authorization to purchase much needed portable radios due to the fact that as of December 2018, the department's current radios are no longer supported by the manufacturer.
The fiscal impact of this ordinance is as follows:

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the sum of $115,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-53000-8CP1926FIRRAD for the purchase of portable radios.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to prepare plans and specifications, to accept bids and enter into contracts necessary to complete the purchase. Said contracts shall contain such terms and conditions as the Mayor may deem requisite and proper and shall be subject to approval by the Department of Law and the Director of Fire.
