Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Ballfields within City of Toledo parks have fallen into disrepair and are in need of immediate restoration to make them available for public use during the 2020 season. Formal bidding is in process, and contracts for work will be issued to address fields at Scott Park, Copland Park, and Woodsdale Park. Upgrades for the fields at Heatherdowns Park, Harry Kessler Park, Sleepy Hollow Park, and Willy's Park are already funded and in process; however, additional funding is needed to enter into contracts for the additional work outlined above. Funding will be from the Zorah W. Bowman Trust Fund. The trust was created by a bequeath to the National Recreation and Parks Association to be used to benefit parks and recreational opportunities at City of Toledo parks and receives a yearly interest payment to the trust. The use of this funding is consistent with previous expenditures from the Trust. The remaining balance of this fund, after these expenditures, will be $9,092.80.
