Instituting a new City Policy requiring all social service providers, receiving public money from the City of Toledo, to submit annually a list of services offered by the provider, to the local 211 system.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
211 is the most comprehensive source of local social services in the United States and Canada and was reserved by the FCC in 2000.
In 2018, 211 across the United States made more than 12.8 million connections for assistance and is available to 94.2% of the U.S. population.
211 assists in all areas that are not covered by 911, such as but not limited to; housing, health, utilities, food, reentry, human trafficking, veterans, jobs, substance abuse disorders and family support.
In order for service providers to effectively connect with community members in need, providers should be registered with the United Way 211 system.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That Toledo City Council hereby requires all social service providers receiving public funding from the City of Toledo, as a contractual requirement to receiving the dollars, to submit annually, the services offered by the provider, to the local United Way 211 system,
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance will go into effect as early as is allowable by law.
