SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Toledo Community Coalition submitted a District Improvement Program application for the Smith Park Playground Project in District 1. The proposal includes state of the art accessible playground equipment to complement the new Mott Branch Library located at Smith Park. The applicant has been working with the Division of Parks and Recreation on an overall plan for amenities at Smith Park, and the District Improvement Program award would help to fund the estimated $125,000 project. Additional sources of funding have been identified for this project. The District Improvement Review Committee convened on September 16, 2019, and recommended approval of this application in an amount not to exceed $25,000.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That a sum not to exceed $25,000 is authorized for expenditure from Account Code 5040-16400-8CP1817DNGPRO for the District Improvement Program, Smith Park Playground Project, as detailed in Attachment A.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the necessary contract(s) for the District Improvement Program, Smith Park Playground Project upon such terms and conditions as shall be approved by the Director of the Department of Neighborhoods and Business Development, the Director of Public Service and the Director of Law.

SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed that authorized in Section 1 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
