SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Toledo Police Department has developed a successful School Resource Officer Program, which assigns an officer to Washington Local Senior and Junior High Schools. Washington Local Schools has agreed to provide an amount of $36,210.84 to continue funding the program for the 2019-2020 school years. That amount represents one-half the salary and benefits of the officer assigned to Washington Local Schools for the school year (nine months). Washington Local Schools has paid one-half of the salaries since the 1999-2000 school years.
