Authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $100,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund for upgrades to the fuel system; authorizing the mayor to enter into the necessary contracts for said project; and declaring an emergency.

Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The current software installed in the city's fuel system is no longer upgradable and must be replaced. Fleet Operations will advertise and contract the upgrade to the software and hardware to the City of Toledo's fuel system city-wide. This project was included in the approved 2018 Capital Improvement budget.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the sum not to exceed $100,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund to Account Code 5040-25000-8CP1816FUELSYS for upgrades to the fuel system.

SECTION 2. That the mayor is authorized to accept bids and enter into contracts for the purchase and installation of new software and hardware for fueling sites located at various city- owned locations.

SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw his warrant or warrants against the Account Code listed in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $100,000 in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to replace outdated software and hardware for the City's fuel system.
