Memorializing the Life of Thomas A. Baither.
Summary
WHEREAS, Thomas A. Baither led a full and impactful life, dedicating his life in service to community and family, and making his lasting mark on the Toledo area; and
WHEREAS, Tom graduated from the University of Toledo with a duel degree in Economics and Spanish and embarked on a career in the financial investment area of the business world. He was most recently a partner in Touchtone Wealth Partners with UBS Financial Services. As part of his work in this field, he tirelessly promoted the development of downtown Toledo and worked to create jobs in the Toledo area; and
WHEREAS, Tom was an unsung hero in Toledo, lending support to countless Toledo service organizations. His support extended beyond financial, and he was always ready to roll his sleeves up to help. Most notably, he served on the Finance Committee of the Foundation Board at The Toledo Zoo, and he was a Board member of The Historic Woodlawn Cemetery, He also served on the Board of The Boys and Girls Clubs, receiving, the prestigious National Service to Youth award for 10 years of devoted service; and
WHEREAS, Tom was an avid UT Rockets fan and was regularly seen at athletic events, holding season tickets for football and basketball for many years. He also supported the UT Athletic Department as the primary sponsor of its annual Golf Outing since 1996. He was a member of the Lannon Society in recognition of his support of The University of Toledo where he established The Thomas Baither Family Scholarship Fund; and
WHEREAS, Tom was committed to the betterment of this community throughout his entire life; he was a friend to all and always had a smile and a story to tell. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the entire community; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the life of Thomas A. Baither is hereby recognized and memorialized, and condolences are extended to his family and friends on the loss of a beloved man whose spirit and legacy will live on for years to come.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the earliest date allowed by law.
